OK so here is my first photo...  Last week, the boss decided to bring a case of Miller Lite in to work, in order to bring back beer Fridays, or something like that.. Anyway now I want a beer most afternoons, which is probably not great for my productivity.  I've been good; Laurel and I shared a beer Thursday, before dinner with Diva, and we all cracked into one Friday, before the neuroscience Crawfish Boil, where I learned that I tied for 1st place in the 2013 Neuroscience Student Journal Club presentation competition! Pretty cool huh. I won last year as well and recently won 1st in the poster competition, at the student retreat.  Its nice to know my colleagues appreciate my work/efforts! :)

"Be a Treasure House of Happy Memories"

I've been slowing reading and very much enjoying the The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin.  It's a very optimistic and fun read (fun in the better yourself - health and wellness kind of way, which I LOVE).  One idea I particularly liked was Gretchen's idea to take photos of the everyday little things we do that might not persist in our memories.  This idea and my realization that my own childhood memories are becoming more and more distant, led me to the idea for this blog.  My plan is to take one photo everyday to commemorate the little things in life, like inside jokes and odd routines that are more fleeting than the big events in life.  On a side note, the blog Tough-Minded Optimism is another favorite read of mine, on a more daily basis.
